Import Contacts from Your Phonebook

Import Contacts from Your Phonebook helps you bring selected contacts from your device phonebook into Connecti5. This is useful when your business connections are already saved on your phone and you want to use them inside Connecti5 for map view, filters, nearby search, quick actions, and other features.

Use this guide when you want to import contacts directly from your mobile phone instead of uploading an Excel file or scanning a business card.

What this page helps you do

This guide helps you understand how to open the phonebook picker, allow contact permission, search phonebook contacts, select contacts, import them into Connecti5, and fix common issues when contacts do not appear or fail to import.

When should you use Phonebook Import?

Use Phonebook Import when your contacts are already saved on your device.

This is useful when:

You already have business contacts saved in your phonebook. You want to select specific contacts instead of importing a full spreadsheet. You want to bring contacts into Connecti5 without manually entering each person. You want saved phonebook contacts to become available for Connecti5 features.

If you have many contacts in a spreadsheet, use Import Contacts from Excel or CSV. If you have a visiting card, use Scan a Business Card. If you want to enter all details yourself, use Add a Connection Manually.

Important note before importing

Phonebook Import may show only contacts that have address details available. If a contact is saved in your phonebook with only a name and phone number, it may not appear in the phonebook import list.

This is important because Connecti5 uses location and address information for map-based features such as View Contacts on the Map and Find Nearby Contacts. The developer analysis confirms that the phonebook picker displays only contacts with addresses and filters out contacts without address details.

How to import contacts from your phonebook

Follow these steps to import contacts from your device phonebook:

  1. Open the Connecti5 app.
  2. Go to the connections list or the section where the phonebook import option is available.
  3. Tap the phonebook import icon or option.
  4. Allow contact permission when the app asks.
  5. Wait while Connecti5 loads contacts from your phonebook.
  6. Search for a contact by name if needed.
  7. Select the contacts you want to import.
  8. Use Select All if you want to select all available contacts.
  9. Review the selected count at the bottom.
  10. Tap Import Selected or the import button.
  11. Wait until the import process is complete.
  12. Review the success or partial success message.

After import, the selected contacts should appear in your Connecti5 connections list.

Before you start

Before importing contacts from your phonebook, make sure contact permission is enabled for Connecti5.

Also check that your phonebook contacts have useful details, especially address information. Contacts without address details may not appear in the import list.

You should also make sure your internet connection is active because imported contacts need to be saved into your Connecti5 account.

What happens after importing?

After the import is completed, selected contacts are added to your Connecti5 connections list.

Depending on the available details, imported contacts may become available in:

View Contacts on the Map, if address or location data is available. Find Nearby Contacts, if usable location details are present. Quick Actions, if phone, email, WhatsApp, or address information exists. Filter Your Contacts, if category or tag data is later added. AI Network Intelligence, if the contact has enough useful details.

If a contact already exists in Connecti5, the app may show it as already added and prevent duplicate import. The developer analysis confirms that duplicate detection is based on phone number, using the last 10 digits.

Why some phonebook contacts may not appear

Some contacts from your device may not show inside Connecti5’s phonebook picker.

Common reasons include:

The contact does not have an address. The contact has incomplete address information. The contact has already been added to Connecti5. Contact permission was denied. The phonebook is still loading. The contact name does not match your search query.

If you want to add a contact that does not appear in the phonebook picker, use Add a Connection Manually and enter the details yourself.

Already-added contacts

When Connecti5 detects that a phonebook contact is already available in your account, that contact may appear with an “Added” badge or may be disabled for selection.

This helps avoid duplicate contacts.

If the existing contact has missing information, open the saved connection and update the details instead of importing the same person again.

Common problems and fixes

Contact permission is denied

If contact permission is denied, Connecti5 cannot read your phonebook.

Open your phone settings, find Connecti5, and allow contact access. Then reopen the app and try importing again.

No contacts found

This can happen if your phonebook is empty or if your saved contacts do not have address details.

Connecti5 may show only contacts with address information, so contacts with only name and phone number may not appear.

I can see the contact in my phone, but not in Connecti5

Check whether that phonebook contact has an address saved. If not, add an address in your phonebook or use Add a Connection Manually in Connecti5.

Also check whether the contact is already imported.

Already-added contacts cannot be selected

This is expected. Connecti5 may disable already-added contacts to avoid duplicates.

Open your connections list and search for that person. If details are incomplete, update the saved contact instead of importing it again.

Some contacts failed to import

This may happen if some contacts have incomplete or invalid details, network issues, or server-side validation errors.

Try importing again after checking the contact details. If only one contact fails repeatedly, add it manually.

Import is slow

Importing many contacts can take time. Keep the app open until the progress completes.

If the import takes too long, check your internet connection and try again with fewer selected contacts.

Imported contacts are not showing on the map

Contacts appear on the map only if they have valid address or location data. If the imported phonebook contact has an address but no usable coordinates, update the contact or add location details manually.

Search is not finding a contact

Make sure you are searching by the saved contact name. If the contact does not have address details, it may not be part of the displayed import list.

Error messages you may see

You may see messages such as:

“Loading contacts,” “No contacts found,” “X contacts imported successfully,” or “Import partially successful.”

If partial success appears, it means some contacts were imported but some failed. Review the message and try importing failed contacts again or add them manually.

Important limitations

Phonebook Import depends on contact permission.

Only contacts with address details may be shown for import.

Already-imported contacts may be disabled to prevent duplicates.

Duplicate detection is based on phone number.

Importing from phonebook does not create a live sync. If you later edit the contact in your phonebook, that change may not automatically update inside Connecti5.

Large contact lists may take more time to load and import.

Still need help?

If you cannot import contacts from your phonebook, contact Connecti5 support or send feedback from the app.

When reporting the issue, share your registered email or mobile number, whether contact permission is enabled, whether the contact has an address, the error message you saw, your device name, app version, and a screenshot if possible.

Do not share your full phonebook publicly. Share contact details only through official support if required.
