Filter Your Contacts helps you quickly narrow your saved Connecti5 network using categories, tags, favorites, and saved filter presets. Instead of scrolling through all contacts, you can apply filters to find the right group of people faster.
Use this guide when you want to search contacts by category, tag, saved preset, or favorite status, or when your map or contact list is showing too many results.
What this page helps you do
This guide helps you understand how filters work in Connecti5, how to apply categories and tags, how to save filter presets, how to clear filters, and what to do when filtered results do not appear as expected.
When should you use filters?
Use filters when your contact list or map has many connections and you want to focus on a specific type of contact.
This is useful when:
You want to find contacts from a specific category. You want to view contacts with selected tags. You want to show only important or favorite contacts. You want to narrow map results by business type, group, city, event, or contact purpose. You want to save a filter combination for repeated use.
For example, if you have many vendors, clients, consultants, doctors, event contacts, or business partners saved in Connecti5, filters help you reach the right group faster.
How filters work in Connecti5
Connecti5 filters are based mainly on categories and tags added to your saved contacts.
A category is usually a broader contact group, such as vendor, client, partner, consultant, or service provider.
A tag is usually more flexible and can be used for custom grouping, such as city name, event name, priority, industry, follow-up type, or meeting context.
The developer analysis confirms that the filter screen includes categories, tags, and applied saved presets. It also supports search, selected-only view, clear filters, saved presets, and optional favorites filtering.
How to filter your contacts
Follow these steps to filter contacts in Connecti5:
- Open the Connecti5 app.
- Go to the map view or connections list.
- Tap the filter option.
- Open the Categories tab to select one or more categories.
- Open the Tags tab to select one or more tags.
- Use the search bar if you want to find a category or tag quickly.
- Use the selected-only option if you want to review selected filters.
- Tap Apply Filters to apply the selected filters.
- Return to the map or list to see filtered contacts.
After applying filters, Connecti5 shows only contacts that match the selected filter conditions.
Using category filters
Category filters help you narrow your network by contact type.
For example, you may use categories to find:
Clients Vendors Doctors Consultants Manufacturers Partners Investors Service providers Event contacts
Categories are useful when you want broad filtering.
If no categories are visible, it may mean you have not added category details to your contacts yet.
Using tag filters
Tags help you create more flexible groups inside your network.
For example, you can use tags such as:
Ahmedabad Expo 2026 Follow-up High priority Real estate Finance Local vendor Potential client Meeting done
Tags are useful when one contact can belong to more than one group or context.
If you imported contacts without tags, you may need to edit contacts or add tags while saving new connections.
Search inside filters
If your category or tag list is long, use the search bar inside the filter screen.
This helps you quickly find the filter option you want instead of scrolling through the full list.
If your search shows no results, check the spelling or confirm whether that category or tag exists.
Selected filters view
The selected-only view helps you review what you have already chosen before applying filters.
Use this when you select multiple categories or tags and want to confirm your filter choices.
If the selected view is empty, it means no filters are currently selected in that tab.
Saved filter presets
Connecti5 may allow you to save filter combinations as presets. This is useful when you frequently use the same filter setup.
For example, you can save presets like:
Ahmedabad Vendors High Priority Clients Event Contacts Finance Network Nearby Partners
The developer analysis notes that filter presets can be saved locally, and auto-saved presets may be limited. Filter presets may be device-specific and may not sync across devices.
How filters affect the map
When filters are applied, the map shows only matching contacts.
For example, if you filter by “Vendor,” the map may hide contacts that are not vendors.
If you filter by a tag such as “Ahmedabad,” the map may show only contacts that have that tag and also have valid location data.
If no contacts appear after filtering, clear filters and check again.
How filters affect nearby contacts
Filters can also affect nearby results.
If you select a category or tag, Find Nearby Contacts may only show contacts that match the selected filters and are within the selected distance range.
So if nearby contacts are not visible, the issue may be:
The distance range is too small. The selected filter has no matching contacts nearby. The contacts do not have location data. Location permission is disabled.
Before you start
Before using filters, make sure your contacts have categories or tags added.
If your contacts do not have category or tag data, the filter screen may appear empty or filtering may not produce useful results.
If you want filters to work better, add categories and tags when you create contacts using Add a Connection Manually, Scan a Business Card, or other contact creation methods.
What happens after applying filters?
After applying filters, Connecti5 updates the current screen.
If you are on the map, only matching contact markers appear.
If you are in the connections list, only matching contacts appear.
If you use saved presets, the preset can help you quickly reuse the same filter selection later.
Common problems and fixes
No categories or tags are available
This usually means your saved contacts do not have categories or tags yet.
Add category or tag details to your contacts, then open the filter screen again.
Search shows no results
Check whether the category or tag name is typed correctly.
If the category or tag was never created or assigned to contacts, it will not appear in the filter list.
Filters are applied but no contacts appear
Clear all filters and check whether contacts appear again.
If contacts appear after clearing filters, the selected filter combination may not match any saved contact.
Contacts appear in the list but not on the map after filtering
This can happen when filtered contacts do not have valid address or location data.
The filter may match the contact, but the map still needs location details to show a marker.
Saved presets are not showing
Filter presets may be stored locally on the device. If you changed devices, reinstalled the app, or cleared app data, saved presets may not appear.
Filters are not syncing on another device
Saved filter presets may not sync across devices because they can be stored locally. Create the preset again on the device you are using.
Too many filters are selected
If you select many categories and tags, results may become too narrow.
Remove some filters and apply again.
Map still looks empty after clearing filters
Check the selected distance range, location permission, and whether your contacts have valid location data.
If the map is still empty, open View Contacts on the Map for detailed map troubleshooting.
Error or empty messages you may see
You may see messages such as:
“No Results Found,” “No categories match your search,” “No Data Found,” “No categories available,” “No Categories Selected,” “No Saved Filters,” “No filters applied,” “Preset saved,” or “Filter deleted.”
These messages usually mean that no category or tag matches your search, no filters are selected, no saved presets exist, or a filter preset was saved or removed successfully.
Important limitations
Filters depend on the category and tag data saved with your contacts.
If contacts do not have categories or tags, filtering will be limited.
Saved filter presets may be stored locally and may not sync across devices.
Auto-saved presets may be limited.
Duplicate filter combinations may not be saved again.
Filters can reduce map or nearby results, so clear filters when you want to view all contacts.
Still need help?
If filters are not working as expected, contact Connecti5 support or send feedback from the app.
When reporting the issue, share your registered email or mobile number, which category or tag you selected, whether you were filtering the map or contact list, whether contacts have category or tag details, your device name, app version, and a screenshot if possible.
