Feature Guide / Contacts & Scanning

Add a Connection Manually

Add a Connection Manually helps you save a new person in Connecti5 by entering their details yourself. This is useful when you do not have an Excel file, phonebook contact, or business card, but you still want to add someone to your network with accurate information.

Use this guide when you want full control over the contact details you save, including name, mobile number, company, email, address, tags, category, profile image, and location information.

What this page helps you do

This guide helps you understand how to add a new connection manually, fill required details, use address autocomplete, add location coordinates, select tags and categories, upload images, and fix common manual entry issues.

When should you add a connection manually?

Use manual entry when you want to add one contact with correct and complete details.

This is useful when:

You know the person’s details but they are not saved in your phonebook. You want to add a contact without scanning a business card. You want to correct and enter location details carefully. You want the contact to appear properly on the map. You want to add tags and category while saving the person. You want to add a contact with profile image or company logo if available.

If you want to add many people at once, use Import Contacts from Excel or CSV. If the person is already in your phonebook, use Import Contacts from Your Phonebook. If you have their visiting card, use Scan a Business Card.

What details are required?

To create a manual connection, Connecti5 needs at least:

Name Mobile Number

Other details are optional, but they make the contact more useful across the app.

Useful optional details include:

Company name Email address Address Latitude and longitude Google Map URL Website Category Tags Profile image Company logo

The developer analysis confirms that name and mobile number are required in the manual add flow, while other fields are optional.

How to add a connection manually

Follow these steps to add a new connection manually:

  1. Open the Connecti5 app.
  2. Go to the connections list or the area where the add connection option is available.
  3. Tap the + button or Add Connection option.
  4. Enter the person’s name.
  5. Enter the mobile number with the correct country code.
  6. Add company name, email, website, and other details if available.
  7. Enter the address in the address field.
  8. Select an address suggestion if autocomplete appears.
  9. Check whether latitude, longitude, or map details are filled automatically.
  10. Add tags and select a category if needed.
  11. Upload a profile image or company logo if available.
  12. Review all details.
  13. Tap Save Connection.
  14. Wait for the success message.

After saving, the new connection should appear in your connections list.

Before you start

Before adding a connection manually, make sure you are logged in and your internet connection is active.

If you want to use address autocomplete or current location, location access and internet may be required.

If you want to upload an image, allow the required photo, gallery, or camera permission when the app asks. The developer analysis notes that manual connection creation can use camera permission for image upload and location permission for current location.

Using address autocomplete

When you type an address, Connecti5 may show address suggestions. Selecting the correct suggestion can help the app fill latitude, longitude, and map information automatically.

This is important because location data helps the contact appear in map-based features such as View Contacts on the Map, Find Nearby Contacts, and Plan a Route to a Contact.

If address suggestions do not appear, check your internet connection and confirm that the address is clear enough.

Using current location

If you want to save your current location as the contact location, use the current location option if available.

This may be useful when you are physically present at the contact’s office, shop, event booth, or business location.

If location permission is denied, Connecti5 cannot access your current GPS location. You may need to enable permission from your phone settings.

Tags and categories

Tags and categories help you organize your network.

For example, you can use categories such as customer, vendor, consultant, partner, or service provider. Tags can help you group contacts by city, business type, event, priority, or follow-up need.

Adding tags and category during manual entry makes the contact easier to find later through Filter Your Contacts and may also improve results in AI Network Intelligence.

What happens after saving?

After you save the connection, Connecti5 creates the contact and adds it to your connections list.

If valid address or coordinates are saved, the contact may appear on the map.

If phone, email, address, or WhatsApp details are available, you can use Quick Actions to call, message, email, navigate, or share contact details.

If category or tags are added, the contact becomes easier to find using filters.

If useful details such as company, role, city, category, and notes are available, the contact may be more helpful in AI-based search.

Image upload behavior

If you upload a profile image or company logo, image upload may happen after the contact is created.

In some cases, the contact may be saved successfully but the image upload may fail. The developer analysis mentions a partial save case where the connection is saved but image upload can fail separately.

If this happens, the contact may still exist in your list. You can try editing the contact or uploading the image again if the app allows it.

Common problems and fixes

Name is missing

Name is required. Enter the person’s full name or business contact name before saving.

Mobile number is missing

Mobile number is required. Enter a valid mobile number with the correct country code.

Email is not accepted

Check whether the email address is in the correct format. It should include a valid username, domain, and extension.

Address autocomplete is not showing

Check your internet connection and try typing a clearer address. Autocomplete depends on map and location services.

If suggestions still do not appear, you can enter the address manually.

Coordinates are not filling automatically

Coordinates may not fill if the address is incomplete or not found by the map service. Try selecting a better address suggestion or use current location if available.

Current location is not working

Check whether location permission is enabled for Connecti5. Also make sure GPS/location services are turned on from your phone settings.

If permission is permanently denied, open phone settings and enable location access manually.

Image upload failed

This can happen because of slow internet, large image size, or upload error.

If the contact was saved but image upload failed, check whether the contact appears in your list. Then try updating the image again if possible.

Wrong country code selected

Check the selected country code before saving the mobile number. If the number is saved with the wrong country code, call, WhatsApp, or duplicate detection may not work correctly.

Authentication token not found

This usually means your session may have expired. Log in again and try adding the connection once more.

Contact saved but not showing on the map

The contact appears on the map only when valid location or coordinate data is saved. Add a proper address, select an address suggestion, or update latitude and longitude details.

Error messages you may see

You may see messages such as:

“Name is required,” “Mobile number is required,” “Please enter a valid email,” “Enter valid latitude/longitude,” “Latitude must be between -90 and 90,” “Longitude must be between -180 and 180,” “Please enter address first,” “Location permission denied,” “Location permissions permanently denied,” “Getting current location,” “Location found,” “Connection created successfully,” “Connection saved but image upload failed,” “Authentication token not found,” or “Failed to create connection.”

These messages help you understand whether required fields are missing, address/location data is invalid, permission is denied, image upload failed, or your login session needs to be refreshed.

Important limitations

Name and mobile number are required.

Address autocomplete requires internet and map service availability.

Current location requires location permission.

Image upload may happen separately after contact creation, so the contact can be saved even if image upload fails.

Country code options may be limited to supported countries in the app.

If a contact does not have address or coordinate data, it may not appear in map and nearby features.

Still need help?

If you cannot add a connection manually, contact Connecti5 support or send feedback from the app.

When reporting the issue, share your registered email or mobile number, the field where the problem happened, the exact error message, whether location or image permission is enabled, your device name, app version, and a screenshot if possible.

Do not share private contact information publicly. Share details only through official support if required.
